One of the most popular ways to get to the north is on a 5-day tour that starts in Casablanca. It talks about well-known northern towns and royal cities. To get to Fes, it first goes through Rabat and Meknes.

After that, it goes to the town of Chefchaouen and then to Tangier. Second, you see the art in Asilah town and then go to Rabat to see the old Medina. Last, we drive to Casablanca to drop you off at the airport or your hotel.

Itinerary Option 1 for 5-day Desert Tour from Casablanca

Day 1: Casablanca to Fes

This is where our 5-day tour starts: we’ll pick you up at the airport, your hotel, or your riad. The first place we will go is Hassan II’s mosque. The second one is the seventh-biggest mosque in the world and one of the few non-Muslim holy buildings in Morocco. Then we’ll go to Rabat, which is one of Morocco’s four royal cities. From there, you can see the Hassan Tower and the Oudayas Kasbah. We will also be able to see the Chellah spot. The next stop is Fes, where we’ll stay the night at a small lodge or hotel.

Day 2: Fes discovery tour

On the second day of our 5-day tour from Casablanca, we will go to the city of Fes. A guide from Fes will lead us and talk about the city’s past. The first place we’ll go is the Royal Palace, which is also known as Dar al-Makhzen. As promised, our next stop is the Mellah, which is Morocco’s oldest Jewish neighborhood (1438). It’s in Fes El Jdid, which used to be the home of the Sultan’s Syrian shooters.

Besides that, we’ll visit Borj Nord to see the city from above. After that, we’ll visit the tanneries and take a walk around the old Medina. Besides that, we will also visit the colleges in Al Quaraouiyine and Al Bouaanania. Stay the night in Fes.

Day 3: Fes to Merzouga desert

We’ll be leaving Casablanca on March 3 and getting to Merzouga on the fifth day. This is the best part of all of our tours of Morocco. We’ll stop at a few places along the way first. We will start by going to Ifrane, which is the best city in Morocco. We’re going to take a side trip to see the Atlas Lion figure. It was made by a German prisoner in exchange for his freedom during WWII.

Afterwards, we’ll go to Azrou to see the Barbary macaques in the Cedar Forest. You will be able to feed them and take pictures of them.

After that, we’ll cross the High Atlas Mountains and get to the Ziz Valley. Oued Ziz goes through a big area with lots of palm trees. In the middle of the day, we’ll get to Merzouga in the Sahara desert. When you get there, your horses will be ready to take you across the Merzouga desert to your camp, where you will eat, listen to Berber music, and sleep.

Day 4: Merzoug desert to Dades gorges

If you want to see a beautiful sunrise on this day of our 5-day desert trip from Casablanca, you should get up early. Following breakfast, you will take the horses back to where they began. When you get there, your driver will be waiting to meet you. The path leads to Rissani City, where you can look around the Souk (market) and enjoy the art. Sunday, Monday, and Thursday are the busiest days in this Souk.

Later, we go through Tafilalt’s meadow and see an old method for watering plants. We’ll have lunch in Tinjdad after that. After that, we’ll visit the beautiful Todgha Gorges gorges. They are 30 kilometers long and 1300 meters high. They are at the base of the Great Atlas Mountains. We will visit the Dades gorges at the end of the day to see the monkey toe rock creation. You’ll spend the night in Dades.

Day 5: Dades gorges to Marrakech

Our 5-day desert tour from Casablanca ends with a trip through the country of the roses and hundreds of kasbahs on the last day. We’ll get to Ouarzazate, which is the film city of Morocco. We will first stop at Taourirt Kasbah to take pictures before moving on to the Atlas studio. Following that, we will have the chance to visit Ait Benhaddou’s Kasbah, which is one of the most popular tourist spots in southern Morocco. The town is built around a fort and is on top of a hill in the middle of a valley.

We drive through the Tichka Passes on our way to Marrakesh in the afternoon. There are some nice views along the way, and we will stop to see the Argan Oil Co-operative if you are interested. When we finally get to Marrakech, we’ll take you to the airport or your hotel. That’s the end of our five-day tour of Casablanca.

5-day Tour from Casablanca Itinerary Option 2:

Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat – Fes

The tour starts in Casablanca and lasts for 5 days. We will pick you up at your hotel or the airport. So, on our way to Meknes, we drive by Rabat. One of the grand towns in Morocco is Meknes.

It is famous for its large walls, gates, and 17th-century mosaic tiles. You will see all of Volubilis’s sights and the Roman sites if you have time. Last but not least, we get to Fes city and spend the night in an old Medina riad.

Day 2: Fes discovery tour

Our local guide will show you around Fes, which was also a royal city. It is the oldest city in Morocco and has buildings from the Middle Ages. In other words, the Blue Gate and the oldest university in Al-Karaouine are part of our guided tour. Also, you will go to the Chouara tannery, which has been around since at least the 1600s. In the afternoon, you will see some religious schools and the Marinid tombs. The best tourist spots will be shown to you, and you’ll spend the night at the same resort.

Day 3: Fes – Chefchaouen- Tangier

We are going to drive to Chefchaouen today through the Rif Mountains. The Blue Pearl City has buildings that have been washed in blue and beautiful mountains that look out over the town. So, you have time to explore the old Medina and other tourist spots. Last, we drive through Tetouan, the “White Dove City,” on our way to Tangier. All night.

Afterwards, we’ll go to Azrou to see the Barbary macaques in the Cedar Forest. You will be able to feed them and take pictures of them.

Day 4: Tangier – Asilah – Rabat

We will see some sights in Tangier after breakfast. For example, you can go to the Hercules Caves, which are shaped like an African map in the sea. After that, we’ll go to Asilah, which is the most beautiful town. You can enjoy art design in Madina, which is bright and clean. On top of that, the walls built in the fifth century give you a great view of the sea. Our last stop is a drive along the Atlantic Ocean that leads us to Rabat. A night is spent in a nearby raid.

Day 5: Rabat- Casablanca

On our last day, we’ll see some of Rabat’s famous spots. This means that Rabat is the capital city of Morocco. It has things to see that show both Islamic and French colonial history. The tour goes to important places like Hassan Tower, Udayas Kasbah, and museums. Your 5-day tour will end in Rabat after you’ve had a chance to see it.

We got to Casablanca with my boyfriend in October and met Hassan and Lhoussain there!
From the start, they were very nice and careful to understand what we wanted. While staying in very nice places, we stopped. We need to stress how great the guides’ vibes are!

Merzouga was our next stop. We loved it—the beautiful desert, the Nomads, the Gnaoua, and the Berbers. Everything about it made us very happy, from meeting new people to having a great time. The trip is a big cultural shock, so you need to be ready for a lot of different things to happen.

Casablanca, the economical city

Spanish speakers say “Casablanca” means “White House,” and Arab speakers say “Dar al Beida.” Casablanca is the biggest and most popular city in Morocco. It is on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, south of Rabat, which is the capital of Morocco. The city center is home to about 3.2 million people, and the outskirts make up the Grand Casablanca, which is home to over 4,000,000 people. With about 7.2 million people living there, Casablanca is one of the most heavily crowded places in the country. The biggest port in North Africa is in Casablanca, which is also the business and industrial capital of Morocco.

Fes, the cultural city

Fes el-Bali, an ancient city built on terraces, is in the valley of Oued Fes. The Fes el-Djedid hill is in the province of Fes, which is also known as Fez, in northern Morocco. One of the most important places for business in the country is the city. Making metal, leather, textiles, and pottery are the major things that the economy does. Craftsmen also make other things, like jewelry, scents, handicrafts, and rugs. Also in high demand were things grown locally. With 16 provinces, Fes is the capital of Morocco and the largest city in the Fes-Boulemane area.

Merzouga

There are 45 kilometers between Mergouza and Erfoud. Also, it’s only about 20 kilometers from the border with Algeria. It’s one of the last towns left in the area before the Sahara sands take it over.

The first stop on Erg Chebbi trips is Merzouga. There are fine-sand hills that can get up to 150 meters high. There are miles of brown waves in front of you. When you think of a desert, this is what you picture.

Merzouga has real Moroccan entertainment in the nights. Drums and beautiful folk dances go well with a tasty tagine, fresh-baked bread, and couscous.

After the desert, you should check out Dayet Srji. This salty lake west of Merzouga is home to many rare species all year long. People who like to watch birds would be amazed. This is a good place to see ducks, buzzards, and falcons in the spring. A lot of gerbils, desert foxes, and snakes and lizards can be found.

The Kasbah fortress of Ait Benhaddou

About 29 km separate Ouarzazate and the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou. The town has walls and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A native Moroccan house made of mud bricks, like the Ksar, can be found all over the pre-Saharan area.

A lot of directors around the world really like Ait Benhaddou’s filmmaking.

On the left side of the Ouarzazate River is where the Ksar is. A trade path from Marrakech to Timbuktu through Zagora ran next to it in the past. It’s likely that the Ksar was built in the 1100s. Still, there are still a lot of families.

When you walk along these old walls, you can’t help but think of things that may have happened here in the past. Ait Ben Haddou is a beautiful spot.

The red city of Marrakech

It is about 150 kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean and is one of the biggest and most important places in Morocco. Other big cities in Morocco are Casablanca, Fes, and Rabat. Because of all the tourists, the government built one of the country’s main airports on the edge of Marrakech so that it would be easy for people to get to.

You can pick from many places in Marrakech when you get there. A two-star hotel might cost €25 per night, while a five-star hotel would most likely cost at least €70 per night. It’s also possible to stay in a hostel. Offers start at seven euros and go up from there.

The tower of the Al Koutoubia Mosque, which is almost 80 meters tall, is a must-see for tourists. The well-known ruler houses can be seen in Medina, the old part of the city. You can also walk along the defense walls that were built in the 1100s and stretch for almost 10 kilometers. Nearby is one of the most important Islamic schools in North Africa. It was built in the late 1400s.
