Itinerary:
Day 1: Errachidia-Merzouga:
Today, we will meet you at the airport and pick you up. Then, we start our 3 days tour from Errachidia to Fes. We will drive to Ziz Valley and experience a panoramic view of palm tree groves. Besides, we arrive in Rissani to visit its old market. Finally, we reach Merzouga desert and spend a night at your accommodation.
Day 2: Exploring Desert areas and Carmel Trekking Trip:
After breakfast, we start our desert excursions by 4X4. You will explore the most interesting sites of the Erg Chebbi. Firstly, we visit the drive to Khamilia to enjoy the Gnawa music of dark skin people. These people are original, from Mali. Further, we visit mines of Mifis behind the dunes. Then, we meet the nomad families who are still living in tents. You will have Berber pizza there and drive to Sahrij Lake. It attracts many kinds of immigrant birds, like ducks and flamingos. Finally, you ride camels and enjoy the sunset in the middle of the dunes. You will also experience sandboarding and music around the fire.
Day 3: Merzouga- Erfoud-Ifrane-Fes:
The last day of the tour will be in Fes. Therefore, you will wake early to watch the sunrise view over the dunes. And after shower and breakfast, you ride camel back to the center and resume our tour. We will drive to Erfoud to visit its market date fruits. Moreover, we stop again in Ziz Valley and stop in Midelt for lunch. After that, we visit Cedar Forest to enjoy wild monkeys and take pictures with them. Next, we stop in Ifrane town. It’s difficult to visit Merzouga without viewing the large dune, commonly known as Erg Chebbi. The large dune of Merzouga is one of the attractions of Morocco’s dunes. The Merzouga dune is a must-see attraction in the Erg Chebbi. Its ascent is tough due to its height of approximately 160 meters, but reaching the peak ensures great joy.
An Erg (also known as edeyen, ramla, nefoud, or koum) is a fixed-dune desert. In Morocco, there are two, including Erg Chebbi, which is 5 kilometers broad and more than 20 kilometers long!
The city of Ifrane:
Located in the central Middle Atlas, Ifrane is a mountain town perched at an altitude of 1713 meters. It is considered as one of the largest water reserves of the Kingdom thanks to the numerous natural sites of which it abounds. The province of Ifrane is the showcase of winter tourism par excellence.
With its real name Ourti (garden in Amazigh), Ifrane is the capital of the province of Ifrane which is located in the heart of the Middle Atlas with an area of 3573 km2 and which, according to the latest administrative division, is part of the region of Meknes-Tafilalet.
